Abstract: The aim of this article is to describe in brief the Mormonism, which is considered as a typical American religion. The possible discussion of the Mormonism, which claims to be the “last religion”, with Islam, which has always carried out the same claim for fourteen centuries, is figured out. The question as Mormonism is a sect within Christianity or an independent religion has always been discussed. All these discussions show that what Mormonism corresponds within the history of religions is not more important than how it is situated by other Christian religious sects. Here the social capital production capacity of Mormonism, compatible with the social values within the American context is examined.
